Trained youth-workers from the gap* go into schools and build relationships with students during lunch-breaks. This enables us to give students support through consistent relationship and also address questions and concerns they may have in an informal manner.

1 on 1 Mentoring allows us to work with a young person for a period of time (from 3 months up to a year) to work through specific issues highlighted by an agency or school. We work with young people on setting and achieving goals in areas that they need to improve in. We usually work with young people that are close to permanent exclusion as part of a schools intervention or as part of a behavioural issue but all young people can access our support should there be other issues such low self esteem.
Group mentoring involves working with a group of six students that are chosen by the school /agency to work through one or all of the following modules:
We feel that ongoing relationship and sustainable investment is important in the life of a young person and therefore we would welcome the opportunity to be involved with other areas of your school life. For example you may have school productions that we can attend or help with, music festivals, activity weeks or even provide youthworkers for trips away and residentials.
